Fans of Kristin Hersh, 50 Foot Wave and Throwing Muses

As you probably noticed, I added a sweet live performance of "Flooding" to the main page from Kristin's session on ugo.com, which they describe like this:

Kristin Hersh seems like a sweet woman. She seems like she might just be a cool mom, or maybe that aunt that slipped you shots of whiskey at your neighbor Theodore's wedding. But then you hear her howl and watch her fingers dance across her guitar and everything changes. You might say she's possessed. She fronted the successful alternative band Throwing Muses in the '90s, and leads 50 Foot Wave today, and she's rocked out across the globe. She came into UGO to play some "swampy" acoustic folk rock. Get into it.

"Flooding" has such a "Sno Cat" vibe to it ("Sno Cat" being in the top end of my favorite Kristin-solo songs). Such precise, yet flowing guitar. I still really love "Dusty Road", too. I completely forgot about that one. Listening to this brought me back to her last Chicago performance at Old Town. Sweetness.; ▶ Reply to This
