Kristin on twitter:

p.s. the title "speedbath" has become mystifying/inappropriate since the song "speedbath" didn't make the record...any title ideas?

the first thing that came to mind was: "what a treasure song to keep as an mp3, then!"

it was one of my favourites, but i like the idea of it being exclusive to the CASH project as well, which can be officially called "Speedbath" now i guess. i can't wait to see the tracklist of the album and find out how many surprises it brings.

So, by now, we know that 'Morning Birds' and 'Speedbath' didn't make the cut. am i missing any others?

holy crap this just keeps getting more and more exciting!

i wish i could come up with any title ideas worth suggesting to kris... but not having any idea what the track list is like makes it even harder

when did we find out that morning birds didn't make the cut?!?! that makes me sad...

yes, that's tricky!

i seem to remember that she twittered about 'Morning Birds' not being on the album when she asked for sequencing ideas and someone suggested it as an opener or a closer

However, when did an album title have to be also the title of one the tracks within? And why can't 'speedbath' still be part of the title? Like:
Life in the Speedbath
The Speedbath Sessions
Luxuriating in the Speedbath

Naff - yeah, but you know what I mean.

hmmm no speedbath, no morning birds, i seem to recall waiting for the master recording of Elizabeth June in sequencing, and in a recent tweet K seemed to like the title Crooked, so i am guessing that track is on there. And Flooding. very interesting. could go so many ways! I love so many songs from the last two rounds of CASH tracks, but I have a soft spot for Around Dusk and Fortune so I hope both of those are on the final version. Also interested which songs get held over and maybe turned into throwing muses songs. Static and Moan were both written around the time that the flood of TM songs came, and the essay with Gin indicated she might hold it for TM as well. For the record, I can also hear Coals going either way, with a TM version being loud and lots of drums. I am very excited for the new album and for the entire next year! much good times.

now we know 'Coals' is on there. yay!

its been really interesting experiencing the evolution of this cd over the past 2 years. First came a set of songs that we were lead to believe would eventually make up an album called Speedbath. then this year came a whole new set of demos, along with the news most of the original batch had been extensively re-recorded/ remixed. And now it isn't even called Speedbath, and presumably half of that original batch of songs is no longer on there.

i wonder if the tracklist will hold any other big surprises, such as a really killer track or two that we haven't yet heard in demo form?

I know, it's so exciting! you never know, "Lemon Tree" could make its way on there. That would be wicked. Billy implied that it was going to stay a Kristin-solo song, while "Clarke's" and "Palm" will be turned into TM songs. I am sad that "Morning Birds" probably won't be included. I am particularly in love with "Around Dusk," "Static," and "Fortune" ... and "Krait" is absolutely amazing. But it's quite fun not knowing exactly what to expect. I wonder what other songs from the 2009 batch will make it on there? I love "Opiates," that would be a fun surprise.

An album doesn't have to be named after a title track, but it's dumb when the title track would exist and not be on the album. I'm glad because I never liked the name "speedbath" whatsoever. I'm sure she'll think of something good.

She mentioned she was leaning toward 'Crooked' as an album title. I think that's as good a title as anything. Though you could find plenty of potential titles within all the tweets and other things she's written in the past year. i'm partial to 'A Thousand Mice In My Head'.
