I love autumn--the colors, the cooler weather, Halloween, Thanksgiving, having winter on the horizon. All of it.

I was not prepared for today's Kristin with an Eye pic. Looking at cuteoverload.com now to rebalance...sort of a yin/yang type thing...

I had to teach 3 classes today with a migraine that would take down an elephant.

We're polar opposites with a wonderful spring day - blue skies, mild temps. Been cleaning away the red dust from last week's dust storms (spent all Tuesday scrubbing the dust out of the decking on our verandah - now gotta oil the woodwork . . . grrr).

Also, started lsitening to SSPU - it's yet to grow on me at this stage; but then again, I have a similar experience with KH/TM where my feelings for the music either clicks or I have to leave it for another time - a mood thing I guess.

The sad news here this week was the announcement that one of Sydney's best known indie/alt music pubs - the Hopetoun Hotel - closed/is closing due to money problems/sale/council fines/etc.
A great shame as this has been a great venue for so long - I remember seeing bands here over 20 years ago - and experienced one of the most wonderful intimate gigs by Neil Halstead a little while back.

Yes, lovely day down here. I ate chocolate covered honeycomb for breakfast. My car battery died right out the front of school when I went to pick up Fraser. I had to wait for the roadside assistance man to bring a new battery. I'm glad I was at school where the kids could get out of the car and run around.

I rebuilt my battered old, recently broken iPod and I now have mobile music again. Its like coming out of sensory deprivation.

They make chocolate covered Honeycombs? Oh, wait, you probably meant, like, real honeycomb, not the sugary Post cereal...

(And those two trucks carrying batteries are quite convenient, aren't they? One came to Kelly's rescue last year, when she was stranded on the highway, miles from any city, in the middle of nowhere.)

We have a chocolate covered honeycomb bar, Crunchie, but for the real deal you need to find an old style confectioners where they sell loose lumps of the very same chocolate honeycomb.
There is nothing remotely healthy about it, Pure sugar. My mum loved it.

Weather wise I believe we can officially call this an Indian summer, I am told it has to be October to truly qualify so we made it by the skin of our teeth.
Unfortunately the only thing it signifies is the typically english summer that led to it. Good for the complexion though.

ok, I somehow missed Wednesday this week. I haven't been that busy. Apparently missed Thursday and Friday too, since I'm just now seeing this...
