Nah, from now on we say "Oh my Paul" ;) I don't believe in any form of godliness but I do agree that Paul is one special fellow.

what a wonderful page. :D i started with a pretty long one that should nonetheless not be too hard to deduce from the final result: "Steeped in the south, I was singing to welcome the quality of the bone destruction of poppy tea". http://transl...

Food For Thought: Steve Coleman on Free Music

"Many people have asked me what are my reasons for giving away music for free", writes jazz musician Steve Coleman on his website. "Well, why not? Why should everything always cost something? For me music is organized sound that can be used as sonic symbols to communicate ideas. Since my main goal is the communication of these ideas to the people, then why not provide this music for free and thereby facilitating the distribution of this music to the… Continue

Food for thought: a Steve Albini quote on objectivity and music

"Making a record isn't an objective exercise like counting peaches in a basket. Objectivity has no place in the creative part of the recording process. In the technical side, yes. The equipment and the technique need to be appropriate for the job, and most of the time that means operating everything within its technically-correct specifications, and with two engineers in the band, that part is pretty easy.

I am convinced that any decent art (including records) is made with a measure of disregar… Continue

Hello,
I am working on a Kristin fan site, and I would like to include a large collection of photos taken by fans. I would like your permission to use yours. They will be credited to you on the site and I will be posting the link to the site in the forum as soon as it's finished so you can check it out. Let me know if it's ok with you, and if so, what name you would like me to credit the photos to. Thanks!

I went last wednesday to the preview show (then went away for a few days). It was really good. I had my reservations beforehand and I have a few criticisms but in the main I loved it. The venue made it all the more special - I think it suits her, it's a dark, rocky basement type thing. Not very big. No idea how big the other venue is.

Took a friend along who likes some of her stuff and she loved it, which was nice. Gig was packed out as well.

Hi Jedi. Thought it was about time I joined here rather than just lurking.
